Library of Congress - 43rd event in the Topics in Preservation

The Preservation Directorate of the Library of Congress announces two talks, forming the 43rd event in the Topics in Preservation Series (TOPS):

Senior staff members of the Library of Congress Conservation Division will present two short lectures. Ms. Sylvia Albro will discuss the use of Fabriano handmade paper by printers, artists and mapmakers in Renaissance Italy, and distinctive characteristics of these papers that affect their identification and longevity.

Ms. Claire Dekle and Ms. Mary Elizabeth Haude will discuss the development of unified protocols by the Conservation Division's 'Protocols for Iron Gall Ink Treatment Group', and the application of these decision-making tools in recent conservation treatments of 18th century American manuscripts.
